Communities for Recovery (CforR) is excited to announce that the 2012 Ulysses "Mac" McLester Spirit of Recovery and Champion for Recovery award winners will be honored during the 4th Annual "Give to Keep" Friendraiser Luncheon.  This year’s luncheon will be held at CforR’s office located within the Austin State Hospital campus, on Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm.

These two distinct awards recognize two Austin Metropolitan Area Recovery Community members who are deeply committed to the Recovery Movement.

The Spirit of Recovery award is given to one individual who has made a deep commitment, through non-clinical work, in the form of volunteering, mentoring and advocating for individuals seeking recovery from substance use and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.

The Champion for Recovery is an annual award given to one individual in the Austin Metropolitan Recovery Community who is deeply committed to the Recovery Movement, through clinical work in the field of professional counseling and therapy, substance use and/or co-occurring mental health condition treatment, addiction nursing and/or other clinical professional services.
