One-on-One Peer Recovery Coaching
Peer Recovery Coaching is effective and affordable.
In the medical world today, there is scarcely a specialty where peer support is not recognized as a valuable adjunct to professional medical and social interventions. As a non-medical/non-clinical model of recovery support, CforR knows that outcomes are particularly notable when peer support services are provided to people with chronic health conditions that require long-term, self-management, such as the diseases of chemical addition and co-occurring mental health conditions.
What is Peer Recovery Coaching?
It is a service through which an individual, a Recoveree, meets with a Peer Recovery Coach, a specially trained volunteer who serves as a mentor and guide for people living with chemical addiction and dual disorders. This process is meant to strengthen and enhance individual recovery efforts and complement existing professional recovery treatment services. The Peer Recovery Coach empowers the Recoveree with the resources to identify and eliminate any barriers that may prevent them from achieving long-term recovery.
BENEFITS OF PEER RECOVERY COACHING
The Recovery Coach:
1. Meets the Recoveree where they are on their journey of Recovery
2. Provides ongoing resources and connections that are not typically provided in a post-treatment environment
3. Offers a sense of empowerment to the Recoveree by allowing him/her to make self-guided decisions about their own recovery
4. Helps the Recoveree understand the Stages of Change and Stages of Recovery
5. Provides immediate access into the Recovery Community, thereby reducing rates of recidivism
6. Helps Recoveree develop his/her very own recovery wellness plan
